9/11... We will never forget

Happy Jay Day people! Yes, I know the album came out on Tuesday, but since it was 'sposed to drop today on the anniversary... it's Jay Day... Great day... Great album... disagree?... leave a comment on it and watch how quickly I disregard everything you say.

I posted that pic basically to say... buy an album every now and then, it's good for your health. If you Know me then you know that I don't buy music too much (jk?), but when it comes to gooD (dramatic pause) musiC, it's important that we support it. When I feel like an albUm is gonna be something special or it's an artist I riDe wit (II), I don't listen to any leaks, then buy it on the release date and sIt in my car and just let it blast cover to cover. It makes the release date an event rather than just a formality. That's the way it used to be before we got all greedy. Plus it feels better when the first time you hear an album you listen to the whole body of work rather than a leak here and a leak there.

If we don't support good... Music, then who will? Look at all the other music we support on a daily basis. Soulja Boy is killing the ringtone game, Gucci has the hOttest record in the club right now and The New Boyz stay on the radio. I have no problem with that, but the fact of the matter is that the "real" (or whaTever elitist label you choose to slap on it) hip-hop is not going to get that type of love. Lupe does not make songs for the radio, Wale is not going to Make much money off of ringtones & Pac Div gets no love in the club (no Usher). So the only way they're going to make money is thru record sales and performances.

I hate to see it, but I can understand when certain artists "sell out" and you see underground cats try to make a club record or dumb down their music. It's because it seems like that's all people are responding to and at the end of the day, artists are tryna eat. So the next time you get on your horse and talk about ________ killed hip-hop, ask yourself what YOU'RE doing to keep hip-hop alive aside from just downloading/YouTubing (read "asking Lo to burn you a cd") the sh** out of it w/o so much as a "thank you".

[You have just witnessed a quick Hov post turn into a classic personal rant... clap for him]
